Binghamton takes America East volleyball crown
The Binghamton Bearcats defeated the three-time defending champion Albany Great Danes, 3-1, to win the 2009 America East Volleyball Championship Saturday, Nov, 21. It's the Bearcats second-ever America East crown. The NCAA selection show will be broadcast live at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 29,on ESPN News.

A day of jazz
Binghamton native and trumpeter Tony Kadleck joins the Harpur Jazz Ensemble's big band jazz concert, conducted by Michael Carbone, at 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 3, in the Osterhout Concert Theater. A full day of jazz begins with a free mid-day concert at 1:20 p.m. with Mike Carbone on tenor saxophone, Gene Cothran on piano, Al Hamme on alto saxophone, Jeff Guevin on bass, Joe Roma on drums and Mo "Reese" Taylor on trombone. Kadleck will conduct a free jazz clinic at 2:30 p.m.; the day concludes with the evening performance.
