Qinghong Tu is a visiting scholar in the Department of Asian and Asian American Studies for the 2008-09 academic year. She comes toBinghamton from Chengdu, Sichuan in China where she received her MA in 2002 from the School of Chinese Literature. She currently is an instructor in the School of Humanities, at Southwestern University of Finance and Economics. Her main research fields are Chinese culture, contrast between Chinese culture and American culture, teaching Chinese as a second language. Ms. Tu is the recipient of a scholarship from the China Scholarship Council for doing research in the United States. She plans to focus her research on “Chinese as a second language under the influence of Chinese and American culture.” Her publications include “The Custom of Intercourse between Men and Women in the Book of Poem, Journal of Southwest University for Nationalities, 2004.12 and “An Exploration on the Wedding Date in the Book of Poem,” Journal of Southwest University for Nationalities. 2005.12.
