Administrative Offices

Vice presidents oversee each of the five divisions that comprise Binghamton University. These talented individuals work collaboratively to support the University. The divisions are:

Academic Affairs

Academic Affairs is overseen by Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost Donald Nieman, and is responsible for academic staff recruitment, retention and promotion; the academic budget; and the overall leadership of Binghamton's academic plan.

Administration

Administration, overseen by Vice President James Van Voorst, is responsible for a wide variety of safety, maintenance, human resource and service operations for the campus.

External Affairs

External Affairs, led by Vice President Marcia Craner, oversees relationships the University has through its development activities, the Binghamton University Foundation, alumni activities, and communications and marketing efforts.

Research

Research, led by Vice President Bahgat Sammakia, encompasses more than faculty research, but the services that support research including Sponsored Funds, compliance, technology transfer, government relations and economic development.

Student Affairs

Student Affairs, led by Vice President Brian Rose, facilitates the intellectual, emotional, social, and physical well-being of students by providing services as diverse as career development, health services, recreation, the Discovery Program, residential life, counseling services, judicial affairs, parent and family relations, and services for students with disabilities, among others.
