The University’s main campus in Vestal is spread over 930 acres on a wooded hillside above the Susquehanna River. Our modern and well-maintained facilities include the four-building science complex with a multiclimate greenhouse, the 1,200-seat Anderson Center for the Performing Arts, the University Libraries, the University Art Museum and the Nature Preserve, a 190-acre forest and wetland area.The University Downtown Center in downtown Binghamton opened in August 2007 when the College of Community and Public Affairs took residence in the 74,400-square-foot facility. Upperclassmen have the opportunity to take classes in the heart of the community and in the midst of many area human service agencies and organizations, as well as enjoy the city’s cafes, boutiques, recreation parks and walking trails in their free time.
Our extensive athletics facilities include the 156,000-square-foot multipurpose Events Center, which is home to the Binghamton Bearcats basketball team, as well as indoor track and tennis teams. The new Bearcats Sports Complex – a 120' x 75' synthetic turf field – is home to our soccer and lacrosse teams.
Campus Recreational Services, part of our Division of Student Affairs, operates two large gymnasiums; swimming pools; an indoor track; and basketball, volleyball and racquetball courts. FitSpace, a state-of-the-art fitness facility, is available to the entire campus community. Outdoor facilities include 26 tennis courts, a fitness trail, a 400-meter track and soccer field, and numerous playing fields.
