Combined Bachelor's/Master's Degrees
Fast-track your career with our growing number of 3/2 and 4/1 combined degree programs allow you to pursue a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in five years instead of the typical six, allowing you to save tuition dollars and pursue job opportunities requiring more than a bachelor’s degree. Pre-Health
Interested in a career in the health professions? Binghamton University’s pre-health program prepares students for careers in medicine, dentistry, optometry, veterinary medicine, podiatry, nutrition, physical or occupational therapy and chiropractic. Program includes one-on-one advising and assistance in finding internships and gaining experience. Our students have a proven track record of admission into the nation’s top medical schools. Our early assurance program guarantees graduate admission at partner schools at SUNY Buffalo, SUNY Syracuse and SUNY College of Optometry.

Pre-Law
Want to be an attorney? Law schools do not require specific courses for admission, however, they do look for a wide-range of challenging undergraduate courses which emphasize writing and develop logical and analytical thinking skills. Binghamton University’s pre-law program provides outstanding preparation for graduate study in law through rigorous academic coursework, strong advising and many pre-law organizations and activities. Communications
Dream of covering a breaking news story or producing a prime-time newscast? What about working for a big public relations firm? Students who graduate from Binghamton with a major in English and a concentration in rhetoric go on to have successful careers in the field of communications. The major allows students to combine a passion for writing and spoken words with hands-on experience in internships that include working for a local television station or newspaper, or even writing marketing materials and blogging for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. Interns for Undergraduate Admissions also have the opportunity to create their own e-portfolios -- a great way to showcase their work to prospective employers.
Psychology, Pre-Social Work and Counseling
Interested in a career in psychology or social work? Binghamton offers two paths to accomplish your goal.
The Psychology Department in Harpur College of Arts and Sciences offers a bachelor's degree in psychology, and provides students with a solid experimental background for further postgraduate study and training in all areas of psychology and related fields. The College of Community and Public Affairs (CCPA) offers coursework in human development, which focuses on infant to geriatrics, terminal illness and hospice programs, multi-culturalism and the effect of society, health and economic status on groups and individuals. Students receive one-on-one advisement, gain "real-world" experience through internships and thrive in small, discussion-based classes.
