TWO WAYS TO APPLY
TO BINGHAMTON UNIVERSITY
Please complete and submit only one:
The Common Application is accepted by 350 selective colleges nationwide and allows you to apply to any participating school with one application. The online application includes a personal essay and a letter of recommendation.
OR
The SUNY Application allows you to apply to any of the universities and colleges within the State University of New York (SUNY) system with one application. Binghamton University requires completion of several application components:
- SUNY Application
- Binghamton University's paper Supplemental Application Form (includes a personal essay; is completed and mailed within two weeks of submitting your SUNY Application.) NOTE: The online form, as of Friday, October 30, 2009, is unavailable. All applicants should complete the paper form to prevent delay in the completion and review of your application.
- Teacher/Counselor Recommendation (paper form is completed and mailed to Binghamton University)
Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) students may be requested to complete and submit additional academic and financial application information.
Home-schooled applicants are required to submit additional documentation.
Successfully Completing Your Application
- Be sure to follow the steps in applying to Binghamton University.
- Review important freshmen and transfer dates and deadlines. (Note, there is no freshmen Early Action for 2010.)

- Be sure to regularly check the status of required application materials to assure your application is 100% complete for review by our Admissions Committee.
Current Students
Re-enroll - If you have missed two consecutive semesters (Fall/Spring or Spring/Fall) and would like to re-enroll: Download (PDF) an application.
Intra-University Transfer (IUT) or Double Degree -- If you want to apply for a double degree program or Intra-University Transfer (IUT):
- Talk to the academic advisor of the school before beginning the application process to be sure your grades and coursework allow you to be considered. Each school has its own requirements.
