A home, 8,000 miles away...
As a former international student at Binghamton University, I am proud to call this place my second hometown. I travelled 8,000 miles from China to Binghamton to pursue a degree in accounting in 2011. Before I even stepped onto this land, I had been given tremendous help from cultural organizations, the Office of International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS), and other fellow students. I was amazed by the level of support that Binghamton offers to international students. And the support does not just stop there. It continued throughout my student life and still has influences on me as an alumnus. Binghamton is a highly-internationalized institution. With high-caliber students and faculties from nearly 110 countries, Binghamton is able to bring a global mindset into classrooms.
Opportunities for international students are also on a global scale. In close proximity to New York City and other major cities in the east coast, Binghamton offers international students incredible career opportunities with help from international student career advisors.
I truly believe this is a place where international students "come in great, come out better". Now it's my turn to give back to the Binghamton community – by bringing the best of the world. I look forward to helping international students find their second hometown in the states!
