Edith Linn '75 published Arrest Decisions: What Works for the Officer? (Peter Lang, 2008), a study of how police officers’ arrest choices are influenced by overtime, post-work commitments and other personal factors. The book is based on her 21 years as a member of the NYPD. She received a doctorate in criminal justice from CUNY Graduate Center in 2004 and is a professor at Berkeley College in Manhattan.

Charles R. Gallagher, MA '91 received the American Catholic Historical Association’s John Gilmary Shea Prize for his book Vatican Secret Diplomacy: Joseph P. Hurley and Pope Pius XII (Yale University Press, 2008). His work was deemed the best of 38 books on the history of the Roman Catholic Church entered into the competition.

Erik Hage '96, MA '98 is the author of The Words and Music of Van Morrison (Praeger, 2009). Erik is an associate professor of journalism at SUNY Cobleskill, and is currently working on a book about the novelist Cormac McCarthy for McFarland & Co.

Lisa Greenwald '02 is the author of My Life in Pink & Green (Amulet Books, 2009).  Greenwald works at the library of the Birch Wathen Lenox School on Manhattan's Upper East Side, and is also a graduate of the New School’s MFA program in writing for children.
