ALUMNI GATHERINGS
The largest on-campus alumni event of the winter season took place on Saturday, Jan. 29. Winter Madness 2011 brought nearly 700 alumni together for an indoor tailgate party at the West Gym, plus two Bearcat home basketball games. The day of fun started with a women's hoops game against Maine; it was a big win for Binghamton 70-43. That led into the indoor tailgate, which included food, beverages, entertainment and appearances by Binghamton coaches and spirit squads. Many of the party-goers headed to the Events Center to see the men's basketball team in action against Maine. The Bearcats lost the evening game in a close match, 77-74. On Feb. 17, the Alumni Association hosted a Binghamton Business Network happy hour and networking event at Nirchi's on the Avenue in Endicott, N.Y. The mixer provided ample opportunities for Binghamton-area alumni to engage in personal and professional networking. Jared Kirschenbaum, current Student Association president (at right with Phillip E. Nazak Jr. '93, Barbara Nazak, and Sara Delmar '06, MS '09); and Upinder Dhillon, dean and Koffman Scholar in the School of Management, were the featured speakers during this event. The Alumni Association is planning a number of events in March and April, including a Texas swing and 50th anniversaries of the Peace Corps and TAU fraternity. See more information at our events calendar.
