Vincent Scarsella '76 wrote The Human Manifesto: A General Plan for Human Survival (Mill City Press, 2009), described as a self-help book for humanity. Scarsella says his work is based on the writings of Pulitzer Prize winner Ernest Becker and offers a revolutionary prescription for a cultural system capable of delivering mankind into a golden age. 

John Ernest '78 is Eberly Family Distinguished Professor of American Literature at West Virginia University. He is author or editor of six books, including Liberation Historiography: African-American Writers and the Challenge of History, 1794-1861 (UNC Press, 2009).

Lee Alan Dugatkin, PhD '91 is the author of Mr. Jefferson and the Giant Moose: Natural History in Early America (University of Chicago Press, 2009). He is professor of biology and Distinguished University Scholar at the University of Louisville in Louisville, Ky.

George Zebrowski '95 is the author of Empties (Golden Gryphon Press, 2010), a nightmarish tale in which a third-rate detective must solve a seemingly impossible crime.
