Michael E. Rothman '82 is co-author of Edibolic Stress: How The Lies You Are Being Fed Are Making You Sick (Outskirts Press, 2012). The book addresss the myths that make people sick and offers factual information to restore health and vitality. While student at Binghamton, Rothman was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease and was told his disease was incurable. Not willing to accept a lifelong sentence of suffering and illness, he set off on a journey to find a way to help himself with his affliction. Theodore B. Flaum '84 received his designation as a Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians during its Annual Conclave of Fellows Award Ceremony in March. The honorary designation of fellow is bestowed upon those who have contributed outstanding national and local service through teaching, authorship, research or professional leadership. They have also contributed outstanding service in their professional career and family practice duties in their community and civic activities. He is a full-time assistant professor in the Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine Department at New York College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Jeana DelRosso '92 has been named director of the Honors Program at Notre Dame of Maryland University, where she was promoted to full professor. She lives in Ellicott City, Md., with spouse David Freeman '90, and children Sofia (8 years old) and Jamie (4).
Hakeem Jeffries '92 is a New York State Assemblyman representing the 57th District in Brooklyn. He recently won the Democratic primary in New York's 8th Congressional District and will be the party's candidate in the November election.
Sunny Woan '03 launched her own line of briefcases and handbags for working professionals, under the label Taryn Zhang New York. After noticing the majority of women in the corporate sector trying to assimilate to a male-dominant aesthetic, Woan founded Taryn Zhang New York as a means of asserting a feminine aesthetic and style in the workplace, with designs that confidently express feminism. In addition to being a fashion designer, Woan is also a practicing attorney and continues to work full-time as general counsel of a venture capital and global investments firm.
Leonard Hession '07 was named All-City Girls Lacrosse Coach of the Year by the New York Post and MSG Varsity. In his two years as head coach at Tottenville High School on Staten Island, he has led the squad to a pair of PSAL Class A championships.
