Dr. Colleen Perry Keith '83 was selected to be the seventh president of Spartanburg Methodist College in Spartanburg, S.C. Keith has more than 20 years of experience in higher education, in areas such as student service roles, program development, teaching, fundraising and administration. She will be one of only eight female college presidents in South Carolina when she assumes her duties as SMC president on July 1.
Michael Bailes '86 joined First Financial Bank and the Wealth Resource Group in Cincinnati as first vice president. He has more than 15 years experience in sales management and is currently involved in several boards and other volunteer efforts. The Cincinnati Business Courier also named Bailes as one of their "Forty Under Forty" in 2000.
Janine D. Bahar '93 is executive director of the Orthopedic Foundation for Active Lifestyles, a non-profit foundation that promotes, supports, develops and encourages research and education concerning orthopedic care and advancements in technologies and treatment of arthritis, orthopedic injuries and musculoskeletal diseases. She lives in Stamford, Conn., with her husband, Gidon Katz, and their two children.
John J. Bellardini, MS '94, a member of JC Jones & Associates, was recently honored by the Turnaround Management Association as his firm received the Small Company Turnaround of the Year Award for 2008. Under his leadership, Michelman-Cancelliere Iron Works, Inc., was able to complete a successful corporate turnaround resulting in profitability for the first time since 2004 and a new position for growth within the industry.
Vicki Mike, EdD '00 was named New York State Teacher of the Year for her dedication in the classroom as a Spanish teacher at Horseheads High School. She was also selected as the Teacher of the Year for the Northeast Conference Teachers of Foreign Languages and was featured in a cover story in New York Teacher, a publication of New York State United Teachers. She resides in Elmira with her husband, Tom Mike, Sr.
