Binghamton University$1.4 million grant boosts research
Binghamton University has been awarded a four-year, $1.4 million grant by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute to fund undergraduate interdisciplinary research opportunities around the theme of solving problems in the life sciences.

Construction projects updateBudget stalemate could affect projects
Some summer construction projects may be delayed or postponed because of the state budget impasse. The budget stalemate is affecting the schedules of critical maintenance capital projects such as the first phase of the Lecture Hall renovation and the East Gym renovation.



National Lab DayFaculty lead on National Lab Day
In labs across campus May 12, students dropped tennis balls into liquid nitrogen, bent light and learned how computers can be used to counter terrorism. Dozens of local children came to Binghamton University to experience science, technology and engineering during the first-ever National Lab Day.

Donna Summer to perform at Anderson Center
Disco queen Donna Summer will perform at the Anderson Center for the Performing Arts at 8 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 31. The singer, songwriter and pop culture icon rocketed to international superstardom in the mid-1970s and has sold more than 130 million records worldwide. The five-time Grammy winner's hits include Hot Stuff, Bad Girls, She Works Hard for the Money, On the Radio, Heaven Knows, I Feel Love, MacArthur Park and This Time I Know It’s For Real.
