Mike Halperin '68 is the author of True Tales of the Tide (Dorrance Publishing, 2009).  The book chronicles a wide variety of fishing adventures such as the capture of the largest fish ever caught on rod and reel in Virginia - John Thurston's tiger shark, which weighed a little less than 1,100 pounds.  Halperin shares the satisfaction of showing first-time anglers how to succeed, relating his own victories over some of the Atlantic Ocean's most challenging creatures.

Roger L. Hall, MA '72 wrote Lincoln and Liberty: Music from Abraham Lincoln's Era (PineTree Press, 2009).  Hall is a highly respected American music specialist, who was named to Who's Who in America.  He is director of the American Music Recordings Collection and Society for Earlier American Music.

 

 

 

Claire Puccia Parham '01 wrote The St. Lawrence Seaway and Power Project: An Oral History of the Greatest Construction Show on Earth (Syracuse University Press, 2009).  She spoke and signed copies of her book recently at the Onondaga County Public Library in Syracuse, N.Y.
