Bowling tournament planned for February 2010
Join us for the first-ever Binghamton University Alumni Association Bowling Tournament. This scratch singles event will take place on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010 at 1 p.m., at Midway Lanes in Vestal, N.Y. (The snow date will be Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010 at 1 p.m.) Invite a friend to bowl - this event is open to the public!
The tournament will be a fundraiser for a scholarship fund benefiting Binghamton University students whose parents graduated from the University.
Alumni will pay $30 to enter the tournament; all other competitors must pay a $35 entry fee. Bowlers will play four games of qualifying on an oil pattern similar to what is used in a professional tournament. The top four scratch scorers will advance to a single-game elimination stepladder final.
At this point, we expect first prize to be $300, based on a field with 30 entries. All four finalists will cash. Also, this tournament will have brackets; details on this will be posted on the tournament website in a few weeks.
We expect to open the online registration process on Nov. 1.
