Binghamton University Competition for Academic Integrity Posters and Online Presentations
Harpur College and the Office of the Dean of Students are sponsoring a competition for outstanding educational and promotional materials on academic integrity.
Entries could focus on subjects including, but not limited to:
- Cheating on quizzes/exams
- Unauthorized collaboration
- Plagiarism
- Using copyrighted images
- Content of the Student Academic Honesty Code
- Consequences for violating the Student Academic Honesty Code
- Importance of ethics generally
Who may enter? All Binghamton University undergraduate students.
When is the deadline? THE DEADLINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO: 4:00 PM on Friday, APRIL 27, 2012. Submissions should be delivered, as a paper copy or on a flash drive, to Diane Kalmen in the Harpur Dean’s Office, LN 2430.
Poster rules:
- Poster entries can include graphic images, photograph(s), text, illustrations, cartoons, etc. – no limits, as long as the work is your own. Any reproducible media may be used.
- Paper size should be 11x17 inches.
Online presentation rules:
- Could be video, Flash, PowerPoint with voiceover, etc.
- Entries can be from 30 seconds to 5 minutes. They can be short skits or scenarios; public service announcements; a graphic novel-type presentation with a voiceover; interviews; or other format.
Prizes: $150, $100, and $50 prizes will be awarded; honorable mentions may be awarded.
By submitting your entry, you agree that if you are a competition winner or honorable mention designee, the contestant grants Binghamton University all rights to reproduce and distribute your entry in any medium and outlet, with or without modifications, for educational, non-profit purposes.
