What is the Bridges to the Baccalaureate Summer Research Internship Program?

The Bridges to the Baccalaureate Summer Research Internship Program is a 5-week paid summer internship here at Binghamton University, during which you will work as a Research Assistant on a faculty-designed research project, approximately 40 hours per week.

How many Bridges to the Baccalaureate Summer Research Internship positions are available?

There are 18 Bridges to the Baccalaureate Summer Research Internship positions available.

Who is eligible to apply to the Bridges to the Baccalaureate Summer Research Internship Program?

Full-time community college students from groups underrepresented in the biomedical sciences (including but not limited to African American, Hispanic/Latino, Pacific Islander or Native American) who attend one of our three partner schools: Monroe Community College, Onondaga Community College, or Westchester Community College.

What are the qualifications for the Bridges to the Baccalaureate Summer Research Internship Program?

To qualify for the Bridges Summer Research Program you must have an interest in attaining a baccalaureate degree in a biomedical science, completed 12 credit hours at the partner school, a minimum GPA of 2.7, success in college-level science courses, and be a US citizen or permanent resident.

The Bridges Summer Research Program has rolling admissions and accepts applications beginning in January with an application deadline of March 14, 2014 or until all internship positions are filled.
