Binghamton University Council

The Binghamton University Council is comprised of 10 unpaid members – nine appointed by the governor of New York and the tenth, a student, selected by his or her peers.

The council supervises certain University operations, including making recommendations of candidates for president of the University to the State University of New York Board of Trustees. The council also reviews budget requests, makes regulations for student conduct, supervises student housing and safety, names buildings and grounds, and reviews plans for improvement of the faculty, staff and physical plant.
