Swimming

On a weekly basis, there are both lap swim and recreational swim times offered at the Rec Center.

Lap swim provides six lanes (slow, medium, fast) of swimming. Patrons must place themselves in a lane based on their swimming ability. All swimmers must swim in a circular pattern within the lane.

Recreational Swim allows patrons to swim at their leisure. Two lanes are available for those wishing to do laps during Recreational Swim hours. The pool has noodles, kickboards, buoys, and life jackets available for use during pool hours.

Please note: Faculty and staff have access to the Rec Center Mon.-Fri. for morning and lunch time lap swims. To acces late afternoon, evening or weekend swims, faculty and staff must have either a valid Fitness Membership or Rec Only Membership.

Aquatic Classes & Lessons

Recreation will be offering instructional aquatic classes (i.e. Aqua Aerobics, children's swim or adult learn to swim) during the Spring Semester 2012.

Swim Lessons

A variety of swim lessons are available for people of all ages.

Family Swim

Family Swim hours are designed to provide Binghamton University students and members an opportunity to recreate with their dependent children and/or spouse (significant other). Hours are offered every weekend throughout the year when classes are in session. Specific times are posted on the rec schedules page.
