SOFTBALL

Softball - Recreational w/ Comp.

Founded in 2005 and entering its 5th year as a club sport at Binghamton University, club softball has drawn increasing popularity not only at Binghamton but at other colleges and universities.  As a co-ed team, students both male and female are encouraged to join as the lineup card will always consist 50/50 of both genders.  Our executive board consists of a President or Co-Presidents, Vice President, Captain, Treasurer, and Statistician.  Students holding these positions will make decisions together for the team’s interests.  Practices are held 3 times a week (Monday, Thursday and Friday) but during cold weather practices are held indoors once a week.  Team jerseys are worn during games, and additional apparel can be acquired through fundraising or personal contribution.  Most games are held against local teams from a dome league, while some are played against other colleges.  As champions of the First Annual BU Softball Classic last year in benefit of the boys and girls club, the BUCS are looking to repeat in 2010 and look to compete in more tournaments.  Having fun is an understatement as a member of BU club softball.  As a part of the team you will meet many new people, and develop new friendships through team activities while having a good time.  We enjoy success as a team, playing the game we love between those two white chalked lines.
