A well written resume serves as a powerful marketing document, and its purpose is to get you an interview. It should be a summary of your experiences and skills relevant to the field of work or position to which you are applying. It should highlight your relevant experiences (work, leadership, projects, etc.) and accomplishments, and show a potential employer that you are qualified for the work you want. It is not a biography of everything you have done, it should be tailored to the position for which you are applying. To learn more about resume writing, covering the basics of content, formatting and purpose, attend the Your First Resume program, Thursday, February 23 from 4:40 PM to 5:40 PM in the Chenango/Champlain Collegiate Center (C4), E&F.
The Liberal Arts to Careers Externship (LACE) program provides students in Harpur College an opportunity to shadow Harpur alumni in the workplace.
