Project Description

P.U.L.S.E is looking for volunteers to help with preparation for the 13th Annual Breast Cancer Walk on Sunday, April 14th. Volunteer For Several Committees -- SPONSORSHIP/FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE: Those on this committee will visit organizations, stores, and businesses in order to get them to sponsor us or join the walk. This committee will create a book to distribute on the day of the walk. Set guidelines for book i.e donate $25 they get a quarter page etc. Also, they will fund raise and encourage others to donate. Get people to commit to give certain amounts when they register for the walk and those who join as a team. RECRUITMENT COMMITTEE: Those who will recruit others to join the walk by visiting classes and tabling. They will be in charge of distributing posters and fliers for the walk. The committee will be split into three groups: one geared towards Greek life, another for student organizations and the last will be target individuals. DECORATING COMMITTEE: Will create the posters and ribbons to be placed around the union and campus the day of the walk. They will also be in charge of setting up the morning of the walk and cleaning up after it with tables and chairs, etc. MEMORABILIA/TRIBUTE COMMITTEE: Those who will make breast cancer squares, ribbons or pages which people can buy and tribute to a loved one. These pages along with pictures from the past walk will eventually make up a book/books to be showcased on the day of the event. HOSPITALITY COMMITTEE: Will be in charge of any food preparations such as baking cookies, cupcakes, and brownies to be sold and/or given out the day of the walk.
