Project Description

Project Description: The Meet the Farmer Event is an event hosted by Binghamton Regional Sustainability Coalition and Student Alliance for Local Living Economies (SALLE) to promote local economic health and quality of life by supporting locally-owned independent enterprises and sustainable lifestyles. Local farms will provide produce for the event, which a local restaurant will prepare and serve. The event will also host the local farmers and restaurant owners and enable them to meet and connect with community members to promote and create a shift towards localized spending. We are looking for volunteers who are willing to help organize and plan the event, which consists of contacting and networking with various local farms, local wineries, and local restaurants. Volunteers should be well organized, comfortable with email correspondence, communicate well with others, and able to take initiative.
