Literacy Volunteers of Broome/Tioga Co., Inc. (Non-profit)
185 Court Street | Binghamton, NY 13901   [view map]

Founded in 1967, LVBTC recruits and trains qualified tutors to provide literacy services to anyone over the age of 16 (not in school), including basic reading and math help, GED preparation assistance, and English for Speakers of Other Languages. Our service model is based on one-on-one tutoring sessions in mutually agreed-upon times and public places (libraries, coffee shops, etc.). LVBTC is also a local advocate for adult and family literacy in our community, and within New York State. We are an accredited affiliate of ProLiteracy and Literacy New York. We receive federal, state, and local private funding to pay for our services, which are free to students.
