Academic Programs

The core academic program in The Department of Public Administration is the Master of Public Administration (MPA) program, a professional degree accredited by the Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs, and Administration (NASPAA). The MPA program prepares students for management careers in public and nonprofit organizations. The flexibility of our MPA curriculum enables students to pursue a variety of interests and tailor their programs of study to fit their needs. Students can also pursue the MPA as part of a dual degree program with Social Work (MPA-MSW Dual Degree), Nursing (MPA-MS Nursing Dual Degree),or Student Affairs (MPA-SAA Dual Degree). A fast-track combined degree program is available for outstanding undergraduate students at Binghamton University in several academic disciplines. These programs allow a student to complete a baccalaureate degree and the MPA within 5 years of carefully planned study. Currently the MPA program has combined fast-track programs available in the following areas
