Courses

The Master in Public Administration Program (MPA) requires two prerequisites, PAFF 510 and PAFF 521, in addition to the following courses:

Core courses
PAFF 510 Logic of Inquiry
PAFF 521 Public Management/Public Administration
PAFF 522 The Policy Process
PAFF 523 Introduction to Policy Analysis
PAFF 527 Public and Not-for-Profit Finance
PAFF 534 Personnel Administration in Public and Not-for-Profit Organizations

Students must take one course from the following list of public administration electives:
PAFF 531 Administrative Law
PAFF 533 Intergovernmental Relations
PAFF 537 Organizational Behavior
PAFF 551 Management & Leadership in Not-for-Profit Organizations
PAFF 561 Comparative Public Administration and Policy

Concentrations
While the MPA Program does not require students to declare a specialization, a nonprofit specialization is available through the department. In addition, students may develop individualized concentrations in a variety of areas taking courses offered within and outside of the department.

Students should maintain close contact with Faculty Advisors, to ensure proper progress towards degree completion.
