Bio
Paul Gould, PhD is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Lecturer in the Department of Social Work at Binghamton University. Dr. Gould has over 20 years experience in health and human services. He has developed multiple interventions – both school- and community-based – to address the needs of vulnerable populations within the community, including older adults, the homeless, and victims of violence and trauma. Dr. Gould has extensive training and experience as a therapist with trauma victims. At Binghamton University, he is the Coordinator of the Hartford Partnership Program for Aging Education (HPPAE). Through HPPAE, Dr. Gould had developed a network of community collaborations that have sustained and expanded the program beyond its initial 3-year grant period. In addition, he coordinates the Geriatric Consultation Clinic with UHS, providing interprofessional training to students in medicine, social work, and nursing. Dr. Gould was awarded funding through Binghamton University's Academic Program and Faculty Development Fund to implement the Pathways Project: Building Connections in Families Living with Dementia. This project will provide opportunities for HPPAE Fellows to apply arts-based interventions with families in Broome and Tioga counties. Dr. Gould has presented his work at both national and international conferences.
