ADMISSION TO WINTER SESSION
Undergraduate
If you’re a current, matriculated Binghamton University undergraduate student:
Simply go to the BU Brain and register for the Winter Session 2012 course you want, the same way you registered for your fall and spring semester courses. No further application or admission is necessary. Find out more about registering for courses using BU Brain.
If you’re a former Binghamton University matriculated undergraduate student:
- If you’re a formerly enrolled Binghamton University degree candidate (matriculated student) who didn’t attend the University during the Fall 2011 semester and who hasn’t yet received a bachelor’s degree, apply for admission to Winter Session using the Undergraduate Admissions Request for Re-Enrollment Form (139kb, .pdf). You must be formally re-admitted to the University before registering for Winter Session courses; students will be readmitted to the school from which they most recently withdrew.
- Admissions requirements include fulfilling health requirements and, if you’re an in-state student, completing the New York State Residency Status Application.
If you’re a former Binghamton University non-matriculated undergraduate student, a visiting undergraduate student, or a recent high school graduate who isn’t enrolled in another college/university:
- If you fall into one of the three categories listed below, apply for admission to Winter Session online http://www2.binghamton.edu/admissions/apply/current-returning-students/. You must be formally admitted to the University before you may register for Winter Session courses, and you will be admitted to Winter Session as a non-degree/non-matriculated/Continuing Education student at Binghamton University.
- Former non-matriculated/non-degree students who haven’t been enrolled for two or more major semesters
- Undergraduate students at other colleges and universities who aren’t scheduled to receive a bachelor’s degree in Fall 2011
- High school graduates who graduated in Spring 2011 and aren’t enrolled in any college or university may apply as a non-degree student for the 2012 Winter Session (NOTE: You aren’t permitted to continue in attendance for the Spring 2011 semester unless you’re admitted to a degree program at Binghamton University)
- Admissions requirements include fulfilling health requirements and, if you’re an in-state student, completing the New York State Residency Status Application. Learn more here.
- Once admitted, please make an appointment with a Continuing Education adviser.
Important things to know:
- Acceptance to the Winter Session as a non-degree student in no way implies admission to the University in a degree program for the Spring 2012 or Fall 2012 semesters.
- Applicants with previous college experience must be in good standing at the last institution they attended.
- Visit the Undergraduate Admissions website for more information.
