Simulation in Health Care

Conversations in the Disciplines (CID): Simulation in Health Care is a conference developed with the Decker School of Nursing (DSON), the Watson School of Engineering and Applied Science at the State University of New York (SUNY) Binghamton, in partnership with local hospitals . The purpose of this conference is twofold. The first is to bring together scholars from SUNY campuses and other health care organization stakeholders to facilitate an exchange that contributes to the advancement of knowledge in the science of simulation with direct benefit to health care agencies. The overall purpose is to discover the ways that simulation activities and research could be used to foster health outcomes through multidisciplinary teams contributing valuable expertise.

This “Conversation” is designed to present a comprehensive picture of the state of knowledge related to simulation.

Target Audience: Any professional interested in improving health care through simulation technology; Nurses, Nurse Educators, Health Care Administrators, Physicians, Engineers.

The goals of this program are as follows:

To provide a forum in which scholars from various disciplines and workplaces can come together to share their findings from research pertaining to simulation.
To identify and explore existing gaps in knowledge regarding the use of simulation in health care in New York.
To explore the existing interventions specific to the use of simulation to improve health outcomes.
To encourage participants to work collaboratively to develop solutions that will increase simulation activities between universities and health care settings.
