20:1 Program Mission Statement

Founded by Binghamton University in 2004-2005, 20:1 (dedicated to the approximately 20 women per hour who are sexually assaulted in the United States) is a group male and female students on campus that educate other students with an emphasis on men's programming in Greek Life and Athletics with regards to the issue of sexual assault prevention. Our main goals are to: bring about awareness of what constitutes sexual assault situations, define and explore consent; challenging perspectives and deeply held biases, challenge victim blaming and rape myths, explore and encourage bystander behavior, provide information on how to be supportive to victims, and provide resource information, both on and off campus.
