Message from Parent Relations Coordinator
The Binghamton University campus is full of activity as we prepare for the start of the academic year and the arrival of our new and returning students.
We share your pride in their achievements. The high caliber of the incoming class is evident - 2,000 enrolled from close to 30,000 applicants.
We also welcome you - our parents and families - to this first edition of Parent Connect. Each month, we will link you to University news, happenings, reminders and more to help you stay connected to campus and your student.
We look forward to partnering with you to ensure a positive and successful experience for your son or daughter.
Investment in Binghamton is an investment in excellence
The Residential Life staff is excited to welcome your student to their “home away from home”. We are pleased to offer guidance and information for families of students living on campus for the first time (either first-year students or transfers).
The Career Development Center would like parents to be aware of the wealth of services and resources available to students, from freshmen to seniors. Review the list of recommended resources and actions and encourage your student to develop a career ‘to do’ list for the academic year.
Does your student have a physical, learning or other disability? The Services for Students with Disabilities office provides a wide range of support services and accommodations for students with current and comprehensive disability documentation that register through our office.
We develop leaders. Visit the Division of Student Affairs website for information about upcoming student events, news and information.
Looking for additional loans to help fund your student’s cost of attendance? Consider a Parent (PLUS) Loan. For more information, steps to apply, and the PLUS Loan application, visit our Parent PLUS loan web page.
Has your financial situation recently changed? There are “special circumstances” such as job loss or separation/divorce that may affect your student’s financial aid. Visit our Financial Aid Appeals web page for detailed information on what is considered, steps to apply, and the Special Circumstances form.
