Discovery Services
Peer Academic Advising — If you are taking Writing 111, ESL, HARP 101 or HDEV 105, you will be meeting with a Discovery Advisor at least twice during the semester. These meetings will help you focus on improving time management, study and note-taking skills, as well as any other issues related to adjusting to college life.
Get in the Zone — Our DAs talk to students on campus about a variety of issues, such as how stress affects one's health and academics. The goal is to help students develop stress management skills.
Early Warning System — Faculty members submit mid-semester grades for students who have a grade of C– or lower. The professional advisors meet with these students to discuss ways of improving study and time management skills to help improve their grade.

Academic Advising and Scheduling Fest — Offered during fall and spring semesters, we provide students with an opportunity to get help from faculty and advisors with course scheduling.
Our mission is to help students successfully transition to college and also throughout their undergraduate experience while maximizing their academic potential. Our staff consists of professionals and a select group of student assistants — called Discovery Advisors (DAs). Our DAs serve as a first step for students to acquire academic guidance, gain knowledge about the resources available on campus, and learn how to effectively improve their time management, study techniques and note-taking skills.
