If so, we may be able to HELP YOU!
The early warning program initiative targets these ten gateway courses, traditionally taken by many of our first- and second-year students.
Between weeks four and six, faculty will submit mid-semester grades for each of their students who are at a grade level of C- or lower. We are targeting students who are not part of EOP, ESL, ISSS, Student Athletics Success Center, and TRiO/SSS and, consequently, who would not otherwise be contacted to meet with an advisor to get appropriate help.
Students who are at a C- or lower will be emailed by the Discovery Program about their status and to make an appointment to discuss an effective plan of action.
study habits, time management, taking advantage of all of the course specific resources (e.g. Calc help room, Chem help room, etc.), and getting the student signed up for a tutor through the Center for Learning and Teaching, which is located in the College in the Woods Library.
YES! If you are feeling frustrated with your grades, worried about failing, have low motivation, missing classes, late with assignments and are just at the point of screaming, PLEASE contact the Discovery Program and set up a time to meet with us! Even if you do not have a C- or lower, but still feel you may need some guidance and help, we can help walk you through the process of getting back on track.
