BU nursing students conduct annual disaster drill . . .
VESTAL The annual disaster drill coordinated by Binghamton University's Decker School of Nursing students, faculty and staff will begin at 9:40 a.m. Monday in the University Events Center. The drill will simulate a gas leak and explosion scenario, as well as a traumatic bus accident. The drill will come to a close at 1 p.m. when a debriefing will begin. Read more. Decker nursing school to add high-level training courses . . .
VESTAL -- Binghamton University's Decker School of Nursing is offering two new courses that will help train nurses for the work force of tomorrow. The Doctor of Nursing Practice and the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner programs will provide higher education to those who need it, said Decker Dean Joyce Ferrario.

Decker professors with interdisciplinary team receive faculty development project funding to continue tobacco use research
DSON Professors Geraldine Britton and
Gary James, along with Sean McKitrick and Steven Lynn, received $43,575 to continue Binghamton's Interdisciplinary Tobacco Research Use Program (ITURP) from the University's recently launched Academic Program and Faculty Development Fund. Decker Clinical Faculty
Joyce Rhodes-Keefe and
Lori Sprague have also been involved in the project. PhD students
Rosemary Collier and
Tina Abbate were contributing writers on the grant proposal. Collier and FNP Grad Student,
Taffae Cadeau, have worked with ITURP since junior undergrad nursing students. . . .

New Doctoral Program Planned at BU
VESTAL -- Binghamton University will establish a new doctoral program in nursing this fall. The Decker School of Nursing program will allow advanced practice nurses the opportunity to gain clinical and leadership experience beyond the Master's degree level. . . .
