DSON Nursing History Collection
Nursing and nursing education has a long history reaching well back into the 19th century. Although the Decker School is young, it shares in this rich history, and we would like to commemorate this lineage in a permanent display within the school. Any memorabilia related to the Decker School or the nursing profession such as pins, photos, books, and other mementos that you are willing to part with or lend to us would be welcome.
For more information about contributions to the Nursing History Display contact Jennie Orton at jorton@binghamton.edu.

Decker School of Nursing receives $550,000 to establish scholarship endowment
The Decker School of Nursing at Binghamton University has been awarded $550,000 from the Helene Fuld Health Trust, HSBC Bank USA, N.A., Trustee to establish a scholarship endowment for undergraduate students pursuing nursing baccalaureate degrees.
The Helene Fuld Health Trust Scholarship Fund for Baccalaureate Nursing Students will be awarded to 10-20 students annually, beginning this fall.
“We are thrilled that the Helene Fuld Health Trust has chosen to support students in the Decker School,” Said Joyce Ferrario, dean of the Decker School. “The need for nurses is great and assistance to students who choose this profession is most welcome. We look forward to a continued partnership with the Helene Fuld health Trust.”
The Helene Fuld Health Trust's mission is to support and promote the health, welfare, and education of student nurses and is the nation's largest private funder devoted exclusively to nursing students and nursing education. HSBC Bank USA, a corporate trustee, is responsible for overseeing and administering the Fuld Trust.
The Decker School of Nursing, established in 1969, offers programs that prepare students to serve as clinical nurse specialists, nurse practitioners, nurse administrators or nurse educators.
