Laura Terriquez-Kasey presently teaches in the Undergraduate and Graduate nursing programs. Her specialization is related to emergency and disaster response. She developed and coordinates the Disaster Nursing Certificate Program at the graduate level. Terriquez-Kasey also assists in DMAT training for NY2 DMAT and works as a DMAT Nurse.

Terriquez-Kasey's goals include providing preparedness education to the Public and to EMS responders. She presently provides mentoring to graduate students working on disaster education projects. She is also the coordinator for the International Education program here at the Decker School of Nursing.

Education:

• Completion of the Teaching Certificate, at Binghamton University,
• Completion of the Masters in Nursing Administration at Hunter College CUNY, 1985
• Completion of BS from CW POST Long Island University, 1984
• Completion of Associate's degree in Science with a major in nursing SUNY Morrisville, NY, 1971

Research Interests:

• Disaster preparedness education, disaster response issues for nurses and others
• Emergency care nursing issues
• Cultural competency education, development of an exchange program for nurses

Clinical Interests:

• Presently work in emergency care and continue to have an interest in disaster and emergency care education and management
• Advisor for the ENA, National Office in Disaster Preparedness committee
