Parenting philosophies come and go, but old-fashioned values are still the best, according to Mary Muscari, associate professor in the Decker School of Nursing and the author of several books on raising adolescents.

NSA President Joan Persico, NSA Vice President Yanhong Xu, and Birant Akbay, NSA junior student rep, volunteered to help children at the Thomas J. Watson (TJW) Elementary School learn proper hand washing techniques through the "Germ Buster Program" sponsored by the TJW Parent Teacher's Association (PTA). Persico (above) helps a child examine their hands after applying "special" lotion which under UV light reveals hidden "germs" that can remain even after washing hands.
