Student members of the Decker School Nursing Student Association (NSA) and Decker School faculty volunteered at the Coaches v. Cancer Bearcat basketball games held February 5 and 12. NSA students assisted American Cancer Society, Lourdes and UHS Hospital employees at both a men's and women's basketball game. They helped to educate fans about cancer prevention and screening methods, handing out brochures and answering questions. Coaches vs. Cancer is a nationwide event that sets out to spread the word about cancer awareness and empower local communities to take the necessary steps to make a difference in the fight against cancer.

"The events were fun for all of us, and a great event for the community," said Birant Akbay '11, president of the Decker School Nursing Student Association.
