Honors Programs
The Department of Economics offers two honors programs.
J.C. Liu Honors Thesis Program
The J.C. Liu Honors Thesis Program, named in honor of the late Jung-Chao Liu, professor of economics. Completion of the J.C. Liu Honors Program
alone leads to the designation of honors, high honors or highest honors in economics.
Admission is limited and the requirements are very specific. Application for admission to this program is normally made during the second semester of the junior year.
Curriculum Honors Program
The Curriculum Honors Program is open to students to meet certain grade requirements. Completion of the Program leads to a degree with honors in economics.
To certify completion of the Curriculum Honors Program and to assure that the degree is awarded with honors, students need to submit the Certification of Curriculum Honors Program Completion.
It's possible for students to enroll in both of the honors programs. Those who complete both earn high or highest honors in economics.
