The Academy of American Poets College Prize
This award is open to Binghamton University graduate & undergraduate students and offers $100 in prize money. See GUIDELINES below:
Winners are announced in the summer issue of American Poet.
As funds permit, the Academy makes arrangements to publish selected winners in anthologies or independent literary journals.
Our 2007 contest will be judged anonymously by an established poet not associated with Binghamton University.
Deadline: April 16, 2008 at noon
Submission Guidelines:
- Open to graduate and undergraduate students.
- You may submit ONE TO THREE POEMS. Total submission should not exceed five pages (no more than one poem per page). One submission per poet. It you send more than three poems, the three poems on top (without surpassing the five page limit) as they are arranged when the submission comes in will be the ones passed on to the judge.
- Please staple together your manuscript.
- Your name should not appear anywhere on the manuscript. Include a cover sheet with, but not attached to, your submission. The cover sheet should include your name, address, phone number, e-mail, AND a list of the title(s) of the poem(s) included in your submission.
- Submit manuscripts in a large envelope to the Creative Writing box in the English office or to the Creative Writing Office (LN1211), either during posted office hours (T/W 1-3) or slip the envelope under the door. DO NOT SLIP LOOSE MANUSCRIPTS OR MANUSCRIPTS IN FOLDERS UNDER THE DOOR!
