Our Brand

A brand is more than a logo, color scheme or advertising slogan.

It’s a statement of purpose, a signal of competence or credibility, a promise of a certain type of experience and a unique, desirable customer benefit. Most important, a brand is an organizing principle that informs decision-making at every level—from broad institutional vision to tactical initiatives.

A powerful brand is critical to rise above the competition, invigorate stakeholders and build momentum.

In its drive to achieve greater prestige, Binghamton University must claim its space among an elite set of competing institutions by positioning itself as a viable and strategically distinct choice. It must tap into the achievements of its alumni, the dedication of its faculty and staff, and the ambition of its students.

Every piece of marketing and communication is an opportunity to reinforce our message.

Each ad, photo, website, brochure, presentation or other piece that comes from the University is a chance for readers and viewers to experience the Binghamton University brand. For that reason, we must work together to ensure that all marketing and communication materials reflect the same look, language and personality.

Binghamton University faculty, staff and students are driven to achieve—academically, socially and culturally.

Motivated by a powerful intellectual curiosity, Binghamton University represents the essence of scholarship. Passionate. Tenacious. Hardworking. We are ambitious and altruistic in equal parts, seeking to enrich not only ourselves, but also our world.
