DATE: May 2, 2002
The eighth Faculty Senate meeting of the 2001-2002 academic year will be held on Tuesday, May 7, at 11:45 a.m. in UU-221B. The agenda is:
1) Approval of minutes of April 23 meeting (attached)
3) New Business
a) Motion from SUNY Campus Governance Leaders (CGLs) regarding campus based assessment:
We endorse campus-based, formative academic assessment. To that end, we encourage the continued sharing of assessment plans and processes among SUNY campuses. We applaud Provost Salins' statement that SUNY System Administration will not make comparisons among campuses based on assessment information.
However, we are opposed to the centralized collection of assessment data by SUNY System Administration. We are also opposed to any system-wide standardized assessment measures and to any requirement for performance measures that might lead to comparisons among institutions.
b) Committee membership for 2002-2003
