            The seventh Faculty Senate meeting of the 2003-2004 academic year will be held on Tuesday, January 20, at 11:45 a.m. in UU-133.

 

The agenda is:

 

1.   Approval of minutes of December 2, 2003 Full Faculty/Faculty Senate meeting  (attached)

3.      New Business

a) Approval of following resolution to the University Faculty Senate: “The Faculty Senate supports its commitment to and support of campus based assessment as it is currently undertaken at Binghamton University and sees no need for further expansion of university wide assessment”.

 

This item is urgent and important business.  A distinctly different resolution has been proposed by the executive committee of the university-wide Faculty Senate.  That is attached, along with a relevant letter from Chancellor Robert King.

 

4.      Old Business

                  a) Continued discussion of proposed change in the General Education guidelines to use advanced placement in the sciences as General Education science-lab courses (attached to December 2 agenda).  Please see attached document from Superintendent of Vestal School District.
