DUTIES: Train and assist students with disabilities in using appropriate assistive technology, particularly the adaptive and assistive computing technology available on campus; advise or consult with students needing technical assistance with academically-related computing; convert textbooks to accessible formats for authorized students, using high speed scanners and specialized software; assist in the development of web-based tools to enhance and streamline support services.
SKILLS NEEDED: Competency in using various computer software programs and independently learning to use other programs; ability to communicate comfortably and effectively with students, faculty, and staff; ability to teach and demonstrate adaptive and software skills to others; quick learner; demonstrated ability to organize material and time.
