Agep Travel Reimbursement: If you are an NSF-AGEP scholar, you may also be eligible for reimbursement for travel and participation in conferences that are pertinent to your academic career. Graduate School Foundation Travel Grant: This travel grant opportunity is open to all doctoral students however preference is given to those who have advanced to candidacy. Click here for Grad School Foundation Travel Grant webpage.
Support amount for limitations:
$500/year for ABD students (students who have been advanced to doctoral candidacy)
$250/year for non-ABD doctoral students.
Travel Purpose
Travel to conferences where the student's name appears on the program, as presenter is a first priority for funding. Applications should be accompanied by a letter accepting the student's contribution or by a program or other conference materials containing the student's name as participant.
Travel for dissertation research is a second priority and should be accompanied by a clear, brief explanation (250-word limit) of the need for and purposes of travel; this should be accompanied by a short statement of support by your graduate advisor, the graduate director of your program, or the chair of your department.
Travel for other purposes will be considered at a lower priority.
GSO Graduate Student Conference and Research Fund: Available for all graduate students. Up to $300. Click here for forms.
Any graduate student in good standing (as determined by the Office of the Graduate School) is eligible to submit a request for no more than half the expended amount (maximum of $300) for reimbursement of expenses incurred. In other words, you can only be reimbursed of the half of your spending up to $300. Even if you have other forms funding you can still apply to GSO travel fund. You can use either the copies of your receipts (in that case you will need to provide your SSN number to GSO) or your original receipts.
