CORPORATIONS AND FOUNDATIONS
Helping Binghamton succeed
Binghamton University’s success is due to many factors – exceptional students, faculty and staff; strategic planning; and strong leadership serve as starting points. But support from donors provides the margin of excellence that helps keep Binghamton University in the ranks of elite public universities in the nation.
This donor support comes from many sources, including from corporations and foundations that provide grants and gifts-in-kind. For example, software valued at more than $13 million was donated by UGS Corp. to the Watson School of Engineering and Applied Science. The gift is enabling undergraduate and graduate students in industrial and systems science to help organizations improve the ergonomics of product design and make workplaces safe.
And a half-million-dollar gift from the Dr. G. Clifford and Florence B. Decker Foundation has made possible the Innovative Practice Center at the Decker School of Nursing, where students use simulators to gain practical experience before starting clinical training in the community.
