Supporting The College of Community and Public Affairs
They choose their paths based on a profound commitment to society and a desire to play a role in improving lives. The students and faculty members in the CCPA exemplify these values.
With the help of generous gifts from businesses, alumni and friends of the college, we can provide truly stellar programs facilitated by our experts on public policy and human service. We can use groundbreaking research to better understand how organizations and people function, and we can repurpose that information to create stronger community infrastructures, more collaboration among organizations and better services for people who rely on them.
Though we are a relatively new college at Binghamton University, we have very exciting and ambitious plans. We pride ourselves on being located in the midst of the people we serve and on the role we play as Binghamton University’s ambassadors to our region.
Help us attract great students and teachers. Help us enhance our programs and increase the transformational experiences we offer our students. By contributing to the CCPA, you will be contributing to the strength of Binghamton University, our community and our part of New York State — and to the vitality of communities everywhere.
Points of Pride
- Student Groups in the Community. A completely student-run group, Catalysts for Intellectual Capital (CIC 2020) encourages student entrepreneurs and others to remain in the community past graduation. Students4Giving works with students and faculty to expand ideas about philanthropy and provides them with small funding amounts for projects in local organizations. And Social Work students raise funds for and devote their Winter Break to travel to New Orleans to serve residents of that city still devastated by Hurricane Katrina.
