Our Best Response:

When can I register for classes?

When to Register for Classes

Each student is assigned a time ticket that indicates when they may register for courses. You can find your time ticket in BU Brain ("Student" tab → "Registration" → "My Registration Status").

You can also visit the Registrar's website to learn more about time tickets and course registration.

New Students

Registration for new graduate students usually begins on the Monday before classes begin. Check the registrar's calendar for the exact dates.

Often, graduate programs prefer that new students wait to register until after they have attended the department orientation session, so as to select a schedule that aligns with the program's curriculum. To prepare for registration, you can review the schedule of classes. Contact your department or program to find out their registration policy.
