Ask a Question

Our Best Response:

Why is there a hold on my account?

Holds

A hold on a student's account prevents the student from registering for future semesters. It can also delay graduation and other processes. There are a number of types of holds, including health holds, transcript holds, and student account holds.

You can log in to BU Brain to verify the type of hold on your account:

  • Go to the "Student" tab
  • Click "Student Records"
  • Click "View Holds"

Contact the appropriate University office if you need additional information on how to remove the hold.
