The School of Management (SOM) doctoral program emphasizes research skills that are based upon a wide range of quantitative and qualitative approaches that integrate multiple disciplines and philosophies of science to prepare students for careers in academia as well as positions in the public and private sectors. The major strength of the program is the intimate learning environment that boasts a one-to-one student-faculty ratio.
In keeping with the non-departmentalized structure of SOM, the degree program emphasizes cross-functional, interdisciplinary research focusing on problems and issues relevant to management practice. Because our program is small and top-quality, applications are not accepted in all concentrations every year. When preparing your application, you should contact the department (below) to make sure your application will be accepted into the concentration that is of interest to you.
